As of the mid-afternoon hours on Wednesday, ground level ozone concentrations were trending toward peaks in the Yellow category for all inland zones. Only the Coastal region appeared to be on track to finish Green for the day. A weak ridge of high pressure will move farther off the Southeast coast on Thursday. Temperature and humidity levels won't change much, but cleaner air will begin to enter the region from the south. The Upstate region is still expected to see peaks in the yellow category on Thursday, but the remaining zones are predicted to have peaks in the Green category.
