Beach Monitoring
Visit the S.C. Beach Access Guide to look for swim advisory spots
DHEC routinely collets water samples at more than 120 locations along SC beaches, to check for high numbers of bacteria. If an advisory is issued for a portion of the beach, then DHEC advises visitors not to swim in that area.
