COVID-19 Main Dashboard Overview & Instructions

The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) has developed an interactive COVID-19 Dashboard to help keep you better informed of the latest statewide and community-level public health data related to COVID-19.

The dashboard includes 5 interactive data pages that allow you to view data that’s specific to each county:

Home

Provides a broad overview of COVID-19 in South Carolina and in each of our 46 counties. From the home page you can navigate to any of the other data pages.

Testing

Displays the total number of COVID-19 tests and type of COVID-19 tests (molecular or serology) performed. It also includes the percent of those tests that had a positive result. To view county-level details, simply click on a county of interest. For testing details within a certain time period, change the start and end dates displayed on the date slider at the top and center of the page. The number of tests for each county is based on the county of residence of the individuals tested.

Cases

Displays the number of confirmed and probable cases. In addition to statewide and county-level data, you can also view confirmed and probable cases by ZIP code. Click on a county of interest to view county-level details. *To provide a more complete picture of the impact of COVID-19, cases are broken-down by reported race, ethnicity, sex and age. To view case counts for a certain time period, change the start and end dates displayed on the date slider at the top center of the page. Cases are reported based on the county of residence of the individual.

Hospitalization

Displays the number of individuals currently hospitalized due to complications of COVID-19. You can view county-level details by clicking on a county of interest. *Individuals hospitalized are broken down by race, ethnicity, sex and age in order to provide a more complete picture of the impact of COVID-19.

Deaths

Displays the number of individuals in South Carolina who have died from COVID-19. *Cases are broken-down by race, ethnicity, sex and age in order to provide a more complete picture of the impact of COVID-19. Hospitalization is based on the patient’s reported county of residence.

We hope this dashboard is helpful in answering your questions regarding COVID-19 in your community. We will continue to build out the analysis and features available within this dashboard in support of South Carolina’s response to COVID-19.

*Note: To protect individual privacy and in line with DHEC and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reporting practices for infectious disease activity, the data provided is not broken down by race, ethnicity, sex and age if there are fewer than 5 cases.
