College/University Recycling
Colleges/universities have a unique opportunity to improve the community and help South Carolina achieve its recycling goals. DHEC's Office of Solid Waste Reduction and Recycling (Office) provides assistance in establishing and enhancing recycling on college/university campuses.
The Office offers free, non-regulatory services including:
- site visits to assess waste reduction, reuse and recycling successes and opportunities
- technical assistance including phone/email consultations, research and contacts for potential markets, service providers and beneficial reuse
- the S.C. Collegiate Recycling Professionals Certification and other workshops.
In addition, the Office supplies promotional artwork that can be customized for use on your campus, Recycle Guys costumes for use at events as well as peer mentoring options.
