This page will be updated regularly as information becomes available.

Immunization with a safe and effective COVID-19 vaccine is a critical component of the United States’ strategy to reduce COVID-19-related illnesses, hospitalizations, and deaths and to help put an end to the pandemic.

This webpage is a key resource for providing COVID-19 vaccine information in South Carolina and is updated regularly to provide the most current and factual information available.

The federal government has stated its goal is to have enough COVID-19 vaccine for all people who wish to be vaccinated. However, in the initial stages of the national COVID-19 Vaccination Program, there will be a limited supply of the vaccine.

In South Carolina, DHEC; the South Carolina Emergency Management Division; South Carolina Hospital Association; National Guard; South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division; Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation; and other public and private sector partners worked closely to develop South Carolina’s COVID-19 vaccination plan. The overarching goal of this vaccination plan is the equitable distribution of the vaccine across the state, based on the most current federal guidance and recommendations.

On October 16, 2020, South Carolina submitted its COVID-19 Vaccination Plan to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Read the plan by clicking below.
