FAQ | COVID-19 Vaccine Provider Portal

On Feb. 19, 2021, Governor Henry McMaster signed a Joint Resolution passed by the General Assembly relating to COVID-19 vaccines. Section 6 of the Joint Resolution requires the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) to publish a daily report on its website of various information relating to vaccine doses. In order for DHEC to obtain all the information that is required to be published, vaccine providers should report section 6 information to DHEC on a daily basis using the S.C. Vaccine Provider Reporting Portal. 


Yes, all providers are required to report to DHEC’s Vaccine Provider Reporting application in addition to VAMS. Please refer to DHEC issued Public Health Order COVID-19-9 on March 5, 2021, establishing the reporting requirements and timeframes.

Yes, federal providers are required to report to two systems: CDC's VaccineFinder and DHEC’s Vaccine Provider Reporting application. Please refer to DHEC issued Public Health Order COVID-19-9 on March 5, 2021, establishing the reporting requirements and timeframes

DHEC will initially email known providers starting March 8, 2021 with instructions on how to get set up in the Vaccine Provider Reporting Portal. If you do not receive a notification and know you should be reporting, you can register using the Register for Self Reporting form found on the S.C. Vaccine Provider Reporting home page and log in screen. Once submitted, your submission will be reviewed. When activated, users will be sent additional information to set up their accounts to access the portal and start reporting. Your designated organization administrator will be able to manage reporting locations and organization users.

Data should be reported for each active location daily. A reporting day is considered 12:00am – 11:59pm and includes weekends and holidays. The reporting deadline will be noon to report your previous day's numbers.

While you should be reporting daily, you will have the ability to report up to two missed days.

You can report for two previous reporting days.

Yes, you can edit a daily report once it has been submitted. You also have up to two additional days to make any updates.

Yes, you will be required to report on the days that your facility is closed. Reporting days are 12:00am – 11:59pm and include weekends and holidays

You will be able to report your daily numbers starting on the same day after the previous reporting deadline at noon.

DHEC requires that providers report the total number of future appointments that they have scheduled to administer the vaccine for that location.
