Latest Update
The day began mostly sunny with cloud cover moving in as the afternoon has progressed. Temperatures have been mild in the 50’s and 60’s. Smoke production, from the pile, has been mostly limited to excavated areas. There has been smoke from other fires in the area that has impacted the air sensors.
Last night, the sensor located at Schinger Avenue was detecting particulate levels in the “Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups” range, but the levels are back in the “Good” range today.

Please note: The number of trucks leaving the site each day varies depending on the weather and firefighting activities. Also, the tons per truck are estimated on days when landfill receipts are not available at the time of this update.
We’ve used a combination of both triaxle dump trucks and dump trailers. Each dump trailer has the capacity of about three times that of the triaxle dump trucks.

Smoke Forecast for Saturday, December 7 - 9, 2019:
Air quality monitor data in the local area of the fire continues to show particulate concentrations in the good range.
If fire flare-ups do occur, a northerly wind will likely push smoke plumes to the south through the morning Saturday, then a northeasterly wind will likely push smoke plumes to the southwest in the afternoon. Sunday, a northeasterly wind will likely continue to push smoke plumes to the southwest. The wind will be light and variable through the morning Monday, then a southerly wind will likely begin to move smoke plumes to the north in the afternoon. Any noticeable smoke during the overnight and early morning periods will likely dissipate by the late morning hours. However, given the latest trends in fire activity and continued fire suppression efforts, smoke is not expected to be a problem beyond locations closest to the Able Contracting facility along Schinger Avenue.
