DHEC will hold a virtual public meeting to discuss the AVX Site located at 801 17th Avenue South, Myrtle Beach, SC. Interested persons can join the meeting and participate remotely via phone or computer.  At this meeting, DHEC will provide information about contamination at the Site and the alternatives considered for cleanup—including DHEC’s proposed, preferred cleanup method. The intent of this meeting is to present DHEC’s proposed plan and solicit public input from the community. The proposed plan and additional information about the AVX Site can be found on DHEC's webpage at www.scdhec.gov/AVX. Anyone who plans to join the public meeting should complete the registration form.

Written comments on the cleanup alternatives will be accepted through May 15, 2021, and may be submitted to Carol Crooks at DHEC-BLWM, 2600 Bull Street, Columbia, SC 29201, or at the e-mail address below. DHEC will make a final decision on the cleanup after review of all comments received.

DHEC’s Administrative Record—containing environmental reports for the Site—is available for review at the Horry County Memorial Library-Socastee Branch, 141 SC Hwy 707-Connector, Myrtle Beach, SC 29588.
