CheckMyBeach.com is a new resource for beach safety. It will include frequently asked questions about DHEC’s Beach Monitoring Program, which monitors bacteria levels along the coast and issues swimming advisories when water quality is unsafe. It will also links to DHEC’s Beach Monitoring webpage to allow people at the beach to access swimming advisory notifications faster. In addition, it will include information about how to safely identify and swim out of rip currents, as well as educate people about what the flag system means.
