DHEC will hold a Hybrid In-Person/Virtual Public Hearing on the proposed Edge Road Mine on June 30, 2022 at 6:30 pm. The public hearing will be held at the J. Bryan Floyd Community Center, 1030 Possum Trot Road, North Myrtle Beach, SC. For added accessibility to those who may not be able to attend in person, this public hearing can also be joined virtually via a computer, electronic device or phone. Anyone who plans to join the hearing virtually should complete the registration form prior to June 30, 2022. 

The format of the public hearing is formal and provides an opportunity for comments to be heard by DHEC staff and recorded by a court reporter. There will be no questions and answers during the public hearing. DHEC values each participant’s involvement in the hearing and will conduct it in a respectful, orderly manner with reasonable limits on the length of comments, if necessary. A recording of the public hearing will be posted on this webpage prior to the close of the public comment period on July 15, 2022.
