Reporting your recycling efforts and data is the third step - yet most important step - of the Smart Business Recycling Program after reducing and recycling. Reporting your efforts helps the state reach its recycling goals. Data is included confidentially by county and material type in the annual reports. The Smart Business Recycling Program offers an online reporting system that is FREE and CONFIDENTIAL called Re-TRAC Connect. Reporting is done by fiscal year so keep track of your recycling activities from July 1 to June 30.
Watch the webinar below for reporting information and a tutorial on how to register and use Re-TRAC Connect.
Reporting recycling activities has many benefits including:
- helping recycling businesses and markets grow - helping create jobs and contribute to the state's economy;
- helping businesses make effective and efficient solid waste management decisions;
- recognizing businesses for their waste reduction and recycling efforts; and
- helping South Carolina reach its goals.
