As we continue to respond to COVID-19, DHEC’s Office of Environmental Affairs remains committed to providing opportunities for meaningful public involvement as part of our on-going decision-making processes. Virtual meetings are necessary to keep regulatory actions moving forward as an open and public process while social distancing is the norm. The Office of Environmental Affairs uses Microsoft Teams to host virtual meetings. Below are some helpful tips for using this platform.

Joining via a Desktop or Laptop

  1. To ensure you will be able to fully participate in the virtual meeting/hearing, verify that your computer has working speakers & a microphone.
  2. Click the link for the meeting & select "Join on the web instead".

  3. On the Microsoft Teams sign-in page, enter your First and Last Name and select "Join". Please ensure that your microphone is muted and your video is off to avoid meeting disruptions & feedback.

Joining via Mobile Phone, iPad, or Tablet

  1. Download the Microsoft Teams App on your device. It is available on Google Play and in the Apple App Store; both are linked below. It is important that you download the app before attempting to join the meeting.

  2. Click on the meeting link. The Microsoft Teams App will automatically launch. Select "Join as a Guest."

  3. If you see a notification asking to give Teams the permission to access your device's microphone, click "OK."

  4. Enter your First and Last Name and select Join.

Dialing into the Meeting

You also have the option to call into the meeting via a conference call number & code. The code will be provided to you prior to the meeting. An example of a conference call number & code is below:
