The CDC COVID-19 Community Levels map measures the impact of COVID-19 illness on health and healthcare systems.
To determine the COVID-19 Community Level, the CDC looks at a combination of three metrics – new COVID-19 admissions per 100,000 population in the past 7 days, the percent of staffed inpatient beds occupied by COVID-19 patients, and total new COVID-19 cases per 100,000 population in the past 7 data. Using these data, the COVID-19 community level is classified as low, medium, or high. More information can be found at the link below:
Please note: Due to this week's COVID-19 data delay, data for the CDC Community Levels map was not provided in time for the weekly update. As a result, the CDC map does not accurately reflect community levels in South Carolina. Next week's CDC update will have the correct information. COVID-19 levels throughout much of SC remain high and we encourage residents to mask when appropriate and stay up-to-date on vaccines and boosters.
DHEC provides COVID-19 data and vaccine updates on Tuesdays.
Tuesday updates include data from Sunday through Saturday of the previous week.
